To be fair, just because the USA hasn't ratified the UN's child rights convention doesn't mean US children have no rights. There are child labor laws, there are mandatory schooling laws, there are child advocates in court room settings etc. etc. Having grown up a child in the US i didn't feel my rights were infringed upon, in fact i feel very lucky to have been born here. I do admire the UN for their efforts on behalf of our global community, and i believe america has the resources to do more, and will do more, than we are for our fellow americans as well as others world wide.
